I love me some snow wheeling. I love Sevenmile up here because it's pretty level but can have a lot of snow to bash and have fun in - and no real ledges or anything to worry much about sliding off.

This will be the first year snow wheeling for me. Cannot wait! :thumb:

Is that a winch cable I see in the first pic? :D Not to sure if I'm ready for the trails in the winter time.... I love driving around town in it though..... I might have to try out trail this year, we shall see.

It will be here soon enough my friend, soon enough. The leafies were just about played out on Kenosha yesterday afternoon. We'll be putting the knobby tires on the classic cruisers in a month or two :lmao:

I don't know, I do China Wall every winter, but that's just because I know it is open.

Or, and hear me out here, we could ride the mountain bikes that already have knobbies.... Just sayin

I think I'll be switching back to my GY MTRs for winter. After my 180* pirouette on icy Eagle Rock with the BFG MTs, I think I'll go back to the MTRs for winter wheeling. :)

I bought chains for a winter run last year, it was awesome!! They made the Blaze relatively unstoppable with only the rears on... highly recommended for anyone getting serious about a run this winter season.

I'm guessing you're staying in Colorado and waiting for global warming to really kick in. ;)

I'm with you Pathrat, Colorado's much easier to endure than Minnesota but the tropics always sound better than cold, cold and more cold.

I interpreted the "warmer climate awaits me someday" a bit differently.

I like filling up my tires with CO2 from my tank...then airing down. It's my way of helping speed things along until the climate is to my liking.

I like you more each year I know you. I am so happy for Indian Summer. It means I can enjoy sun and the denial about winter is easier to maintain.

Wow Jimmy, deep snow! Did you have any issues with snow piling up in front of your rig or did the chains take you through it?

Nah, no issues with the snow. Several people, who weren't running chains that day, later bought them after seeing me drive through everything. We had a couple vehicles on that trip which needed some assistance with a hill or two... and we had a couple folks without chains who had no issues at all. Lift made a difference as well. That was my first time out in deep snow, so I wanted to see how well chains worked. They work great. I carry them along, but don't strap them on unless the snow is pretty deep.

@Jimmy: I have chains but have not used them yet. This year I will.

DrOldUnit: how about a nice dirt road instead? No tilts no slopes no ditches, just loads of fun! :D

Actually, there is a side road in the Rampart Range area where I had a great time snow wheeling last year. Banzai-ed through a nice trough. Couldn't slide into any trees or ditches, good place to learn how to drive in the snow or test things out.

That's a pretty good description of Pole Hill. :) Oh, there are trees, but no real ditches to speak of. And with chains, you'd be fine.

So they are trees indifferent to my plight and may be displeased if I disrespect them. I will try to keep my headlight covers away from their midsections.

Exactly! But they're not actively evil. :)
