I'm on vacation this week and haven't hit a trail. Anyone want to get out Wednesday, maybe Johnny Park or Caribou?

What time are you thinking? I might call in sick and go with you!

Wow! Just got off the phone with the boss - and I can take tomorrow off. So if you want.... let's GO!

Excellent. Which trail would you like to do? That will determine meeting place. Johnny Park? Caribou? Pole Hill?

Jackie

Let's start with Johnny, and if there's time we can continue on Pierson... what do you think?

Sounds good to me. I'd like to explore some of the spurs off JPR.

Want to meet at the Diamond Shamrock in Lyons? The time doesn't matter to me, so you call the meet time.

Sounds good. I need to drop my girl off at school at 8:15 in Westminster and then will head staight up to Lyons. Traffic permitting... I could be there between 9:00 and 9:30. Sound OK?

Perfect. I'll be there.

I'll post it as a run, too, in case anyone else wants to join us.

Hey Rob, you didn't tell me you had this week off!

Hey Rob, you didn't tell me you had this week off!

I did tell you. Probably when I was suggesting you sit in a lawn chair in your garage and walk me through wiring up a fuse block. You probably forgot. :smokin: (The 40's in the shop Thursday, but Friday's open. :D)

Here's the box on the specially fabricated fuse block bracket.

Quick to say that, must be true! Another example of my excellent memory and attention to detail. I'll see about Friday but hope to venture out by then.

I like the custom mount!

Thanks. You should load up on ibuprofen and join us on the trail tomorrow.

:lmao: You have no idea! I'm trying to be patient rather than my own worst enemy!

Rob

As a member of the bad back set myself, I completely understand. Plus, you want to be rested up to oversee the wiring project. (See, I'm trying to be patient.:)) I have a new winch and bumper sitting in the garage, with no power to either of them. And you know how I like to winch. :D Not to mention that snow wheelin' season is right around the corner.

The new brackets should get there Thursday, so I'll be able to replace the bent one, which means the bumper holes should line up with the bracket holes.

Here's what it looks like in the test fit.

That's going to be real nice Rob!

Rob

I hope so. I'm liking the looks of it. And the bumper, which was on sale, is heavy duty, so I'll be able to run into trees and such. :woot:

looking good there Rob and liking the narrowness so you have clearance for the front tires to go over rocks too!

clearance for the front tires to go over rocks too

Now, of course, I need bigger tires. If it's not one thing, it's 10 others. Maybe next year on tire.

it is always something, isn't that supposed to keep us out of trouble with our better half? Thinking of going up to 35s?

Rob

Thinking of going up to 35s?

I think that would be the best bet. But I think I need to regear before that happens. I need to go to at least 4.10's and maybe lower. And when that happens, I want to throw a locker in the back, too. We'll see how long it takes to save up for all that.

Just drop a set of 60 series axle under it Rob!

 Let me know if you come across any. Then I'll talk to my banker.

Chris
September 14th, 2010, 11:32 PM
:lmao: Okay, but you'll want something a bit more substantial under the hood to go with them!

The bumper looks good Rob.... so does the fuse block...

So you're saying the 60 was underpowered with a 2F?

Chris

Yes, but you know that.
