    Default Wheeler Lake

Ran Wheeler Lake today. I had the pleasure of having; Mark,Victor, Greg and his friend joined me on the trail today. It could not havebeen a nicer day out on the trail. Thisday was a great way to end the season, as I will be overhauling my XJ for thenext 5 months or so.

Mark almost ran the V. The only thing that held him back was that at the driver side rear wheel was a puddle of water and mud mix which prevented his wheel from climbing that boulder. So after three tries we decided it was better to fight another day. Here are some pictures of his attempt on the V.

So I was taken back some as Mark was getting into his rig to do the same obstacle as Victor did in the last set of photos another group who was waiting for us to finish decided that they did not want to risk damage to their JKs (Modified!) and started piling rocks in the gully. I had to ask them to stop so that Mark could precede. I bet they did not eve take the time to remove them????? They might as well been in Subaru's?

Looks like a fun trip. I was at Wheeler Lake today actually. A family in a stock xterra tagged along. We had fun.

Yeah it was a blast! I did have some trail damage. When I came down the gully at bowling ball hill
I should have got out to servay the lines. Like Victor did but I kind of felt like we took the right away
From the group waitng to go up. So I followed his line figuring I would be fine doing that. But I don't have
sliders and smacked the rock that he hit with his sliders. Oh well that is one of the mods I am going to do.
is to add some armor to the under carrage. (Frame stiffeners, boat side rockers, and hooligan t-case/cross member skid
plate.) And so many other mods that I have been putting off. Time to get-er done.

I have to say, I am pretty impressed with Victors' Rubicon. He did great with it.

David - did you notice where the FS put in the fencing? Any pics? It may only be posts at this point, but I have been wondering where all the work was being done. I think MHJC and the FS have about 15 more to go this coming weekend as well.

I think the fence is at the top, there were about 5 groups up there
at one point. I didn’t think to take pictures of that. Had to much fun
    BS-ing with everyone.🤔

Great pix! We ran it on Labor Day, and it was (barely, but still...) snowing at the top when we got up there. Love this trail. Looks like you guys had a blast.
