    Default Seat Covers.

Wanting to get some seat covers this summer. Does any one know of some tough durable ones that are waterproof? Would prefer a company that will make a direct fit, but universal will work too. I've heard of Wet Okole, but they seem pricey.

yea, I have been looking for a while without much luck. Wet Okole is definitely pricy. I have found some generic neoprene ones, but they arent super cheap either, and I have never been able to find one for my back seat. Thats about all I ahve found. Rob and I are talking about having Sean re-uholster ours in some marine grade vinyl when we can afford it. Who knows, if you are interested maybe we can afford it a bit sooner

Old rob was looking for some as well.

I have some on mine that have a thin layer of neoprene, but not completely waterproof (bought from costco)

As anyone who has used any neoprene products at all knows, neoprene IS NOT waterproof.

This is a quote from another forum:

"My neoprene wet suits are not waterproof, and hold water, and so do my friends seat covers, although they do dry out fast in the sun. The seams leak on all of the seat covers, as far as I know."

I have used neoprene gloves, socks, outers and, guess what? They all get wet. One the the many reasons I have never seen the appeal of shelling out $400 bucks to Wet Okole for their BS "waterproof" covers...

    Try these guys:

LL Bean and Duluth Trading also offer waterproof stuff for car and van seats. You are going to have to treat these much the same as you do any kind of outer wear or tent product and show a bit of initiative and actually seal the seams to make them "waterproof".

I have neoprene covers for my front seats, but they were only like $100 when I got them. They are marketed as water resistant. They are actually Nissan OEM covers. They work well for keeping the seats clean - and you can take the covers off and wash them. The only downside is that they may cause you to sweat a bit more on longer trips, other than that I really like them.

What about the silicon waterproofer in camping section at wallmart. It works great on my shoes and jackets. Its an idea at less than $5 a can

Due to the wear and tear, it only works marginally well. Not too bad if you hose your seats down every couple of days, but you would go through cans of this stuff...

Was me, I would maybe go for the semi cheap vinyl covers at Checkers and just use tent seam sealer on the stitched seams.
