Default Lefthand Canyon 2 - Sunday April 18th

This is the official thread for this date. I am really open for anywhere that is not buried in snow. I think LHC is a good place that offers something for everyone until the snow has melted on higher trails. Post up if interested.

    Here is the RSVP:

    Thank You.

AR - I will be disapointed if you DID show up. Prom requires staying out all night and grabbing IHOP in the morning, then getting some sleep. : )

You guys look for Monster Burban (Robert) He will be running LHC with a friend in a Jeep either Saturday or Sunday. Say hi if you see him.

Dee and I may be interested, need detailed directions to the meeting spot though

Boulder Turnpike through Boulder on 28th. Follow it through Boulder towards Lyons. Outside of Boulder look for the only clump of trees that span the road. There is a marked left hand turn here. That is Left Hand Canyon. Take it about 4-5 miles to the trailhead parking. It would be extremely hard to miss and is on the right side of the road.

Watch for lemmings and cretins on bikes who are unaware of anything other than their noses once you head up the canyon.

I have another family who might be coming Sunday. They just bought their '99 TJ last weekend! I invited him to the forum. He'll get around to joining soon.

I have never done this run before, but it looks like we have to go up "Big Momma Hill" because its more fun.

It is fun, But you don't "have to" do Big Momma. All the trails up there cross into each other and all end up at the same places.

BMH was really torn up last year. If it's wet, it might be more than fun. Doesn't mean you can't tackle it...

If it's muddy and slick, I plan to avoid it.

Red Rhino and I went up there last week, and BMH is pretty sketchy. There are a bunch of lines up it, and lot of them require some decent flex to get up. I love to try hard stuff, but I was getting warning bells going off trying to go up that hill. It was insane in LHC though, with constant gunfire going off from the gun range, tons of vehicles, and general craziness all over. After seeing BMH (first time I've tried it), I have no real desire to try it any further then I did. Ended up messing up my hydro steering (was still working the kinks out) right before it got really steep, and there was an FJ80 that was being a complete moron and almost rolled his vehicle about 3 times (with his child and pregnant wife in the vehicle with him). Ended up backing down to a flat spot and turning around. I would say the earlier you guys get a start, the less crazy it will be up there.
