    Default Yankee Hill Stocker Run

What a fun trail run this was! Thank you Stephanie, Ricardo, Randy, Ron, Chris and everyone else who helped me with this! The turn out was awesome, there were maybe 20 rigs on this trail run. Parts of the trail were snow packed and icy, muddy and other areas were dry. Because of the snow I think this is more of a moderate trail. There were a few spots that some had a hard time getting through, moreso toward the end of the the day, I'm not sure what part of the trail it was but there was enough pull power to help! I took some pictures too, but my usb cord to my camera is damaged. I will post them as soon as I get a new one. I think others were snappin photos though!

It was really great to meet everyone who showed up and overall it was a really fun time and I am looking forward to doing it again!!

Deb, I'm old, your typeface is too small for me to read!

Glad you all had a great time. I stayed home, irritated I couldn't go, coughing my lungs out.

What is this, NASCAR? Carnage expected?

Kepi, just to let you know - I'm very jealous that you all had a good day! My wife wouldn't let me join you all, so mine kinda sucked (mostly becuse I was wishing I was in the mountains!) One of these days... I will make it to a trail run with the Subie, I promise!!! (time to get a job and myself MY trail rig )

Yeah, I thought there would be 5-8 of us going by the rsvp so I was surprised (in good way) to see so many! No damage that I know of!

Kepi, thanks for putting this all together. I counted the rigs at lunch and we had 21. Super group of people and a great time. With everything going on, I only managed to take one picture and that was on the way back down.

Thanks for being a great leader! Did the rest of the group make it through the trail?

What a fun trip. I had to chain up. Especially coming back down was soooo icy...but the chains dug into the ice on the way back.

Dont forget --- about the possibility of another Sunday Run next weekend...

Yes. I came down with a group of 7 which included Dr. Unit, the guys in the white toyota pickup (forget the names, they live right next to Rob) and Crispy. After airing up, I made radio contact with the rest of the group and they were on their way down the mountain.

Lots of fun and a great group. A lot different from last week's snow run on Ironclads. More snow on Yankee Hill, I think, but not as steep and rocky as Ironclads. Second run for the 40 and it did great again.

I shot a few pics, but it'll be a few before I can post. just got home and it's dinner time.

Glad to see you got home dude. We weren't sure where you got to after you split up from the rest of the group.

It was a great day, and a huge turnout. Guess thats what happens when two clubs do a trip together. Never seen that many Land Cruisers/Toyotas on one trip before. Cool to see some other rigs thrown in for good measure too, complete with one of the most abused but loved XJ's I have ever seen. The dude litterally had a door hanging off, and more dents then I've seen in a long time.

We had a great time, and got to play in a bunch of different places. I tried pretty hard to get up the quarry rock wall thing, and tried pretty hard to get through the snow drift at the end too. Honestly, it wasn't too bad snow and slippery wise, unless you sunk in deep somewhere. Maybe I'm just used to it, but it seemed like unless you were on the brakes or accelerating a lot, I hardly lost traction. Pretty thrilled with how my BFG MT KM's are doing. Was a bit concerned they would suck in the snow, but they are doing really well on all the snow runs so far. Glad I don't have to worry about replacing them till a later date when I have more money.

I totally spaced bringing the camera, so I'll have to be "that guy" again, and just beg for pics of myself. I brought the battery charger for it, but pulled an idiot move and forgot the camera itself:lol:. It was cool to meet some of the Rising Sun guys, who in general were very cool and awesome to wheel with. Sthmstr and I ended up going out for drinks and stuff after the run. One of the FJ40's overheated on Floyd Hill, after having his rear driveshaft slip yoke fall apart at the "parking area" halfway down the trail. Otherwise, no carnage I saw, despite some "crazy antics" at the big snow drift at the top of the trail (greenmachine, that would be you, among others).

Thank you all for the great attitudes today. I had a blast getting to know everyone. I snapped a few pics but was mostly too busy having fun. Can't wait for the next one.

hehee.......thats what riders are for dude.

Definitely cool to meet you too, and let me know if you need some help doing that SAS on your rig when you get the stuff together. I have a pretty good idea what is entailed, and the rest we can figure out. Get you some flex, and you'll really be going places.
