can't every go wrong with a subie!
im stoked now i can really play with the jeep as it wont be a total dd. As well as if something does break on a trail i dont have to rush to fix it and do a good job on the work.
Congrats! We got the wife a 1998 Forester this last summer. Fabulous car!
Congrats! You'll love it.
thanks all. subacool and smash are going to need to show me the fun spots with these cars. not to mention how to wheel with em without killing it. Its a 5speed manual. nice car and great deal.
Well, crap!! I can still show you some fun spots, but not wanting to kill your car will limit you to flat-er trails (just ask Smash ). The manuals don't like steep long climbs. It's still fun to try though (and then even funnier to see your face when I climb it with no problem, right Ash? :lol"Its a 5speed manual. nice car and great deal."
j/k
Check these out:
Our 4EAT Outback (listen to the comments at the end):
Bruce's 5-spd MT Forester (notice me at the top):
At least you'll get better mpg on the hwy
If you're not wanting to wheel it, which I'm assuming you're not, the 5 speed is the way to go!
Aaah so you do want to wheel it. Apex and central city are the places to go!
it is a 2.5 and has a small oil leak already. I would love the help with the head gasket replacement. mainly because i opened the hood when i was buying it and to say the least its different than my jeep by far not to mention any other car have worked on.
and to the other question this car is going to be a mainly highway queen. and use the jeep for the trails but wouldnt mind seeing a couple of senic back roads no big obsticles and no big hills thats what the jeeps for
i dont know weather the timing belt has been done but it has 146k on it. the car has been very maticulasly maintained however. the person i bought it from took it to every factory maintence schedule to the tee. it is in great shape. except the oil leak
i dont know i havent really had time too look very well it was dark when i picked the car up and i get off work after its getting dark i will have to check this weekend. but it apears to be towards the front of the car if that helps at all.
Remember i dont know subaru's at all
im in for sure. i did do a little back road yesterday to my cusins cabin and i was amazed it had no issue with the I-70 and then i hit the dirt and didnt have a single issue getting up his very steep off camber driveway. I did stall 2x going up but other than that not a problem. truley impressed. And i would be in on a nice little trip in the summer or spring.
4.11 gears in the manual 2.5s. The autos use 4.444.
