    Default 4th of july

I love the fourth and i was wondering what everybody's plans were.

We usually head up to monument for the parade, the kids like to do the childrens parade. Then kinda bum around till about 3 and then we head down to palmer lake for the fire works display. W usually bbq and hang out there until 10 or so and then sit in traffic for the next hour. But its all ways a blast.

I think we'll be up for that. We usually go to the Skysox show, but I'm up for a different show. I heard that Palmer lake show is pretty good so we should be a good shoe in for being there.

We'll be in Texas. I know, Texas isn't the place to be in July but we are visiting family there. We usually do it over the winter but we decided to not be smart this year

since this is a 4x4 site, isn't there a trail that can be done that overlooks all of Denver at night and see all of the fireworks? Why limit ourselves, BBQ, kids games and the best display of all.

We always liked going out by Buena Vista. We'd camp in nearby Mushroom Gulch and then head down to Buena Vista for a surprisingly good fireworks display.

I have been trying to figure out what to do for the 4th. A run up to the hills with a view would be nice. Let's do it!

I am discussing current plans with kim, when we figure out what we are going to do i will post it up. either way i think baldy is one of the better peaks to view from. You can see fire works displays from: memorial park, pikes peak ( which would be real close), maybe U.S.A.F.A., sky sox, palmer lake (maybe), castle rock, denver, pueblo, and maybe even the ones a little further north of denver.

Blady is a good one to do for several reasons. Any stock vehicle can do it, its easy to navigate at night, their are lots of places to stop at the lower end to have dinner and a camp fire before, lots of parking, and it isnt far from the highway.

I dont know the trails just out side of denver but is their any that are close to the foot hills that provide a good view of the city?
