    Default Greetings!

Hey everyone, Adam here, your newest member from Thornton. Recently upgraded from a Subaru to a 22 4Runner TRD Offroad. Excited to go on some group rides, hit some easier trails ASAP then start venturing into more difficult trails once they melt out and I've installed at least some rock sliders.

I think I made the decision to get a 4x4 when I went on a long solo mountain bike ride last year which briefly took me along a forest road with pristine campsites and amazing views. I didn't see a single soul that day and it reminded me of week long backpacking trips through the wilderness and I'll be hoping for more days like that.

My partner and I are already planning a trip to Utah in the fall to drive the White Rim road over two or three days and are open for more ideas while we're in the area.

    Welcome to the group!

I understand the call - grand views and nobody around - good stuff.

Another trail for Utah - Elephant Hill is high on my trails list out there. I last traveled it this past fall. Pictures

Elephant Hill looks pretty awesome, seems like a stock height 4Runner could run it provided there's rock sliders installed. Thanks for the recommendation!

Welcome neighbor! I’m also in Thornton and funny enough was looking to do White Rim this year! I’ll probably try to plan it as a forum trip if you want to have some company and the dates align!

Welcome as well! I am also new here, and the itch to get back out there...un-real. Cannot. Literally. Wait.

Similar story as well, ended up in a 4runner last month actually, different old vehicle, however, came from a 2012 F-150 always wanted a 4runner, just never was in the cards. Well moving back to CO and family situation being right, it was time!

That last picture, it looks like a left sluice pile in the Idaho Springs area?

Yep, this was along the Oh My Gawd Road which runs between Idaho Springs and Blackhawk!
