    Default Hello from Castle Rock!

Hello and thanks for the add! I’m from Castle Rock and always looking to get out and wheel on the weekends during the season. I’ve been Wheeling for the last 32 years around CO, MT (Go Griz!) and UT. I’ve built 3 Jeeps including my current JKU, a 4Runner and a S10 Blazer. I look forward to meeting up with folks! Pictures are from this last summer.

    Welcome!

I'm catching up on some intro's - a nice time with family over Christmas.

I'm curious to know about Montana - what are the trails like up there?

So I ran them over 20 years ago in my YJ when I was in college in Missoula. So a very different perspective than today. But we’d run up to Kalispell and around Flathead, and around the Lost trail are on the border of Idaho and MT and everything seemed less rocky not as technical as trails here. I didn’t have lockers or a winch on my YJ and never needed them up there. Now we would just look at maps in the Gazetteer atlas and say that trail looks cool or will get us to a fishing spot. It was a different kind of wheeling. Now I go run trails because I want to run that specific trail. Back then it was about exploring and getting lost and ending up somewhere none of us had been. We never looked at trail ratings or anything. Sorry it’s not much help, I really want to go back one of these summers and actually do some of the trails over and some we never even knew about to see if my minds eye remembers them correctly. Plus I love flathead and glacier!

"out exploring" - that's my interest. If you want to plan a trip - I could be game.
