    Default Spring Creek trail 10.6.23

Great day on the trail today, chilly and cloudy in the morning but have way to sun in our eyes in the afternoon rock crawling. It was just two of us, me and Ben in his ‘85 Toyota pickup on 37’s. The Wall was as intimidating as ever and I decided to do the same line I did last time (far left and then up and right) and made it first try!! Pretty happy about that. Ben tried the far right side near the tree and almost made it first try but then bounced further right and into a precarious position. He decided to winch up rather than try to reposition. After the wall we climbed steep rock gardens along the shelf road and navigated Boulder all the way to the top.
The highlight was the hard left up near the top and then a relentless Boulder field climb to the top that goes on forever. If you haven’t done this one and you’re on 37’s, do yourself a favor! Obviously smaller tires can make it too but 37’s are perfect for this trail in my opinion.
    Heres a few pics

Sounds fun! Maybe I'll do that one day. How does that wall compare to the far right hard line on heart attack kill at Kelly Flats?

It’s been a couple years since I’ve done Kelly Flats but from what I remember heart attack hill was steep and loose but pretty easy. The Wall is steep rock but a lot shorter …. What’s interesting is you can run Spring creek to the rock and afterward you can return to trailhead for a short challenge (1 hour) or continue to the top for a long (4+ hour) challenge.
Overall Spring creek is much harder than Kelly flats (unless you play in the chutes, which I haven’t). TJMike recently did both of these trails and would have a better assessment than me 🤷🏽*♂️

As Matt said Spring Creek is harder than Kelly Flats. I barely spun a tire on heart attack hill though took a few tries to get up the Wall. In my option, The Chutes is the hardest obstacle on either trail, lots of fun

Great that Matt and Ben had a good day on the trail! Sorry I missed it.

Do y'all know which line I'm specifically referring to? On the far right you're going pretty vertical to get up that part.

I do know what you're referring to and the Wall gave me a lot more trouble than that far right obstacle. Keep in mind this is coming from a short wheelbase guy. You long wheelbase guys climb the steep stuff differently
