Pole Hill / Storm Mountain / Kelly Flats / North Sand Flats / trails west of Cameron Pass or perhaps just northeast of Cameron Pass?

As for wheeling up north this weekend - I left FoCo about 3p today and headed for the fantastic sweet rolls at the Glen Haven general store. That enjoyed I backtracked to Storm Mountain. It was an easy and short trip to the lookout at the top. Near zero traffic on the trail. On the way out I came across a utility quad flopped on it's right side / downslope. It had a winch and dad was setting a strap to a nearby tree when I came to the scene. I was upslope with the belly of the quad facing me - an easy winch pull to get it onto its feet - done. I traveled back to their camp and enjoyed some conversation for an hour or so.

The two left the `northwest suburbs of Chicago Friday night and drove straight to Boyd lake to get ranger permits / final paperwork for an elk hunt. They'll be in the Storm Mountain area for a week - hoping to get an elk. It was an enjoyable late afternoon chatting with them. While just getting cool on the mountain I was looking forward to getting lower. No top on the jeep and me with short sleeves and no coat - temps in town are perfect.

Trip report in a bit...

I likely will head out tomorrow / Sunday. Perhaps some trails off of 44H / Pennock Pass / or west over the pass...
