    Default Delete Winch Hook?

I'm wondering why I'm still running a hook, has anyone just put a soft shackle at the end of the rope? It would fit in the eye at the end of the rope and I can't see a downside...

Soft shackle makes sense. A significant benefit to synth is to remove heavy mass from the winching system so a soft shackle / remove the hook is right in that line.

The integrated storage hook fair-lead catches my eye if you wanted to go in that direction.

I haven't run a traditional hook in years. I have a Flat Link on my JKUR and just an open loop on my buggy.

Deleted that and re-attached my line to the drum using the knot and tape method from safe-xtract: https://www.safe-xtract.com/tutorial...to-winch-drum/
