Default Jeep Jamboree Silver Valley, Idaho

Has anyone participated in any of the Jeep Jamborees? My wife registered me for the Silver Valley Idaho Jamboree next July. They have these all over the country, including the Rubicon trail. I researched the Silver Valley Jamboree and the trails, specifically Grouse creek, look challenging and fun.
My biggest hesitation is group size, these seem very popular and I’m not sure I’ll enjoy two days of wheeling at a snails pace with dozens of other Jeeps.
I’m considering cancelling but was wondering if anyone has done one of these JJ events and how the experience was.

    Thanks for any input 😎

I have not done a Jamboree, but I did come across this while looking at the area around Blanding:

I've never been to one and I never will. Just the thought of wheeling with that many people gives me nightmares. I think you should go and report back on the madness or lack of.

I’m not a fan of these type of events because anytime I’ve been in large driving groups it’s been slow going. I prefer 2-5 vehicles usually. However my wife registered me for this for Xmas and wants to make a bigger trip out of it (visit friends in MT before and head into Canada and visit Nelson and Banff, which I’ve been wanting to do for a while. Main reason I’m probably going is because even if we cancel now, there’s a significant penalty so for now I’m planning on going.

Consider putting Lake Louise and the Icefields Parkway (Banff to Jasper) on the list. Lake Louise - well, just because you're close and it's an iconic photo stop. Much like the Maroon Bells is an iconic spot in Colo - it might not have much draw aside from being at such an iconic spot - a check it once item.

Put me in the curious group to hear feedback on the Jamboree.

Was this a Christmas/holiday/whatever gift that she gave you? If so I'd say take the opportunity to do it, you know what you're in for traffic wise, make the most of it. Make some connections, go somewhere different and enjoy the experience. What's the worst that can happen, you're in the background of 67 different Instagram posts? You're a resourceful dude you can get away from the crowds

It was a Christmas present from my wife and we are going to plan a big trip around it. So I’m planning on going forward and attending this Jeep Jamboree. I’ve researched the trails and they look awesome! Grouse Gulch is the top trail, which looks quite challenging and fun! YouTube has a few videos of that route, along with a few others that look fun!

fatkids has the right idea! sometimes you never know how something will be until you try it, plus you could meet some really cool people and in any case you can try to focus more on the positives. if you're in the right state of mind that it will be more about the social aspect, the wheeling will just be an added bonus

similarly, i am really looking forward to trying my best to meet up with this group called full size invasion in 2022 https://www.fullsizeinvasion.com/ half the fun will be checking out all the variety of rigs for me and meeting the people who built them

I’d do a Jamboree just to check out all of the different builds and see them in action for sure. That said, I am able to tolerate and sometimes enjoy watching people act like idiots. Some days I even like to play along.
