So what a great day!!!!!! Want to thank everyone for join in on the fun! It was nice to meet some new people and good to see Brandon and other familiar faces. Hope everyone made it home ok. (My beater made it home in good shape). I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures this trip. (I was busy having a great time!!!!!). Maybe others can chime in with some visuals of the day.
    Thanks u-all! David

Thanks everyone for a great time...!!! What a great way to start the new year wheeling and meeting new folks. I had a blast and the ice slide had good pucker factor. I'd like to go again after a foot or more of fresh snow is on the ground, it would be really fun. Gerald

Brandon, Gerald and one of the Cherokee’s made it but yes, we turned back actually before the big hill — the starter ice hill was this one

I made it as well as Shane in the Land Rover :P

But yes, half the group didn't make it or didn't want to try, and it was more uphill from there. We decided to go back down to the intersection and play around on the areas on the way to Ironclads.

Correct, Max and Shane both made it no problem..... I didn’t even try because I didn’t want to risk doing any damage to my Power Wagon

Max, how far up did you guys go on Ironclads?

I'm trying to update accounts - What's Gerald's screen name? Brandon was there too, yes? Anyone else show up that is not listed on the calendar's RSVP?

Mark had a friend join us but I'm not sure if he will join our group. Max was there also.
I hope to do a new years run every year so much fun!

I ended up coming down that ice hill so fast and with my tires turned too far that when I hit the main curve I blew my right front tire off of the bead! Never done that before, but luckily it was a quick fix. First time my wife came out with the group as well and we both had a great time. She was really pleased with how friendly everyone was and quickly figured out the unofficial "window rolled down means come chat with me"

Funny how that happens...I’ve met the best people on 4x4 trails though out the country.

I went to the Y intersection, and decided against trying it. I was worried about sliding down the hill to the left, and there weren't any ruts there to stop my Jeep from sliding into one of the many trees. Ryan and I headed out after that.
