    Default New Years day run.

So for winter wheeling there is the good old stand by (Bunce School house) I think that since we (Mark, Greg @ a few other FR members) ran T-33 last summer. It would be fun to attempt it New Years day.

I figure we would meet at between 9:30-10 am. And roll out there after. This will be the third time I have come out to play in the snow at this fun trail. Should be a good time!

Yeah, we know that, but running the part up to the gate is usually the fun part.

Yeah it's about 1hr 45 minutes from our area. But it's a nice drive up through Golden through Boulder, Lyons to the trailhead. Nice easy drive compared to I-25 north to Longmont exit. I hate driving that highway or I-70 up through the mountains. To many race car drivers who put everyone life in jeopardy.

You know I am not sure, the other 2 times I did a winter run we meet some where relatively flat. And when we ran the t-33 trail we meet at the are where you have a steeper climb into the trail system. I will have to do some research on where to meet unless you guys know of the best winter trail head. .?

I was thinking near APFS 5 OFF S St Vrain dr. Right near the school house. Is that the best spot to meet? Correct me if I am wrong?

We met at Camp Dick this summer when we ran T-33A. Is this what you're thinking of? When you leave Camp Dick to join the trail, you make a hard right hand turn and immediately climb up.

That gate is closed in the winter.

Might be thinking of this location. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.1585.../data=!3m1!1e3

That's the exit by the shooting range, right?

I think so. I have only been through there once. I tend to stay away from Bunce because it so crowded with crazies and rentals.

The meet location on Matts map is not quite correct. The turn off is from s st vrain rd and meet at the school house.

So I finally took the time to get on my P.C. and drop a link to the spot we can meet for this trail run (let me know if it works for you guys).

Mark and I are going to leave early enough to get there at 9:30 We are looking forward to playing in the snow. From the trail report that RockyMntRebel posted there seem to be no shortage of snow on those trails. I we are going without chains and I have never made it up and over Iron Clades because of that and no lockers (yet) but I have still had plenty of fun on these trails in the past. Hope the weather is favorable for a great day out there.

I'm excited for the run tomorrow. My wife is going to join me on a club run for the first time. Depending on how it treats her it could be anything from us having to leave early to me getting to take photos the whole time while she drives but either way it's going to be a great way to kick off the new year.
