    Default Mountain top fire spots?

Back in Idaho, there was a trail called Boise Ridge Road. It was a fairly mild trail but had several spots to stop to camp or have a fire with really cool viewpoints. One of the spots overlooked Boise so you could see all the lights come on but somehow, light pollution still low enough to see the stars. It had a huge area and it was common enough for people to congregate and have a bonfire. I made the mistake of planning one once in the end of July where the daytime temps were 90-100+ degrees. The mistake I made was asking everyone to meet at 7pm. Well, it was my first summer and didn't realize the sun doesn't set until 10pm! We were drenched in sweat sitting there baking under the hot sun.

Anyway.... Is anyone familiar with any trails that are similar to this? I was looking at Trails Offroad and found Storm Mountain might be nice. The picture they have at the top looks like a big enough space for a couple rigs and a fire. Any other suggestions in Fort Collinsish area? I'm thinking of going out tonight to maybe check it out with the dog as the wife is staying over at these two boys house or something tonight, I don't know, but it gives me a chance to go ride trails!

Heh - Storm Mountain was what came to my mind!

These two spots (close to each other):
    1) Google Maps
    2) Google Maps

Northwest is 80c / Sand Creek. The spot is somewhat high so wind can be an issue. To the northeast is Laramie about 30 miles distant.
    Google Maps

Close to Boulder was Fireman Hill - I think it had a spot or two for eastern city lights. But alas - the area is closed to motorized vehicles.
Google Maps This spot might not be correct - though it's in the general area

That sounds like an ideal evening, esp in spring or early summer.
