    Default Gateway To Moab

Our trip to Moab via the backroads last week. We did Sandflats rd / La Sal mtn rd / John Brown Canyon on the way back, hopefully I'll put that together soon. The people at Gateway Canyons Resort / Gateway General Store are awesome; my wife lost her Discover card there after gasing up and they found it, locked it in the safe, and made every effort to contact us. We picked it up on the way home and bought some stuff from them with it.

Nice vid - thanks for the ride. The Onion Creek route is on my some day list.

We ran Onion Creek last year before running Top of the World (which overlooks Onion Creek). It makes a fun day trip even if you don't plan to take the through route. For an extra challenge, look up Rose Garden Hill, which connects from Onion Creek to the top of the plateau to access ToTW.

We pass the turn for Rose Garden Hill @ 23:51 / 39.1 miles and you can see me stop for a second to make sure we're not going to Rose Garden Hill- even with skids our Xterra is not up for that, it's not stocker friendly in either direction. We were planning on taking the road that leads to TOTW on the way out, the Delores River crossing is a turnoff from it, but then we found out we had to go back to Gateway... hoping to try that next month if the river is low enough and the roads are dry. Found this link to river levels: https://waterdata.usgs.gov/ut/nwis/u...95,00300,63680
