I think he realllllly wanted to see what it was like to hit the trails in a Rover so he made up some excuse about his 4wd not working, parked his truck, and hopped in my rig.

I am happy that everything went well. I am sorry I couldn’t make it, but had to visit my older sister who wasn’t doing well. I am glad I make that decision.

Anyone (the new folks!) who hasn't posted, please do. Even if it's an "it was a nice day" post.

I use the posts to update wheeler badges and in this case volunteer badges.

    Thanks!

James' first post with names - and posts with trucks in the pic - help me figure out who was there.

Yeah as soon as we hit the trail I pushed my 4 wheel button and it kept blinking and errored out unfortunately. I wouldn't have been able to do the trail in 2wd. I was hoping it was the same problem I had at Yankee Hill where it showed an error but still actually engaged 4wd but it wasn't clicking. The last time I had it checked out they said it was just a loose sensor from when they did all the work so when they fixed the sensor I hadnt even thought to check 4wd before the run (a mistake i wont make again)

So I backed up and parked in the lot to hop in Shane's Rover so I could still contribute to picking up trash. Was really bummed I couldnt test my new KM3s but had a good time nonetheless.

We had a great time. Glad to see the trash amounts going down. We did find one site off a side spur with a bunch of old rusty cans, 2 wash tubs, and what looks like rusty sign metal.

Sorry pics are from an iphone so no logical explanation can be given as to why they view normally on a computer yet post upside down on the forum. Must be an apple thing.

Huh, I'll have to go back and try to load them again this evening. I have the hardest time posting pics on this site, how does everyone else do it? I notice I can't just upload them to the site without making them super small. Do others just pay for photo hosting somewhere and link to it?

    For DC we had:

Louis - username 78BJ40 - green land cruiser
    Nate - username Nate3265 - beige tacoma
Ty - username Icebox Ty - black grand cherokee
Prabha - username Pgopinath - dark colored jeep jk with earthroamer camper conversion
Mike - username swank1975 - white classic range rover
    Jackie - maroon jeep

    On BF it should be:
GaryG in the new white jeep gladiator truck
Sam (the stanger) in the built green YJ instead of the ranger in his avatar
Shane (speedkills) in the maroon land rover (LR4?)
Scott (Tdash) who rode along with Shane.

As an afterthought - it was neat collection of different vehicles - maybe the most variety of any trip I have been on. And all three of the classics had no issues!

I was thinking the pavilion was private property - okay to drive follow trail to NF land, but shouldn't veer off the to visit it?

That was my understanding as well. The road disappears on the map near the pavilion as you enter private property.

To make a post to include your photos:
    1. Click "Go Advanced"
    2. Scroll down past the smileys
    3. Click on "Upload Photos"
    4. Select your photo from your PC (or other source) and select "Upload"

You can upload one or two at a time at high quality or several at a time if lower quality is desired.

    Hope that helps!
