    Default MSV-Coney Sept 1 report

Trail is much rougher than it was when I first ran it stock in 2012. I don’t think a stock wrangler would have an easy time these days. I had a couple of spots that gave me some trouble, but nothing too serious.

APRS did much better than I expected in the valley and trees.

There was a sign at the end we exited stating temporary closure starting on the 3rd. I didn't see a reopening date listed.

Saw the same sign as Trent. Others mentioned it closing too and why they were there today.

I have run it in my stock Wrangler several times, it is a JKUR though.

Just a few weeks ago. All the way up to the water crossing on Coney and then back down.

I ran it about a month ago in my Range Rover. I also would have thought it was ok for a stock wrangler.

What are the mud pits near the Camp Dick area like? Deeper / more rutted or easy?

Easy as normal. The two places are the typical two obstacle. One heading up after the hard left. The other after the upper water crossing where the trail veers right for aways.

First one I slid off my line and had to bang my way out of it. The second my drivers side rear lower shock mount hung up and I couldn’t proceed further. A number of other spots I banged metal as well. Much more than previous years.

The club that adopts the trail has done a lot of work in those mud pits over the years to try and make the bottoms stable so they do not get too deep.

Me and my buddy were up there that day as well. I was in the rzr and he was in a black 3rd gen 4runner. His runner did great for being open diffs. Finally got to try the trail after been wanting to do it for over 7 years. Definitely will be doing it again next season!

I spotted for a stock JKUR a few weeks ago in the rain. We had to stack like 1 rock and he had no room for error on the line but he got through. This is through the toughest rock part heading from MSV to coney flats (just before the top).

Just before that I had no spotter and tried the line I knew worked but I slipped off and bent my tie rod. So it’s not easy but there is a line through it.
