    Default Adopt-a-Road Sept Clean-Up

We are about a month away from our next Adopt-a-road clean-up for DC and BF. The normal USFS coordinator and point of contact (Brant Wobig) for this has been on a temporary assignment out of town, and thus Louis Gonzales is helping us. As things are a bit more complicated for the forest service, I am trying to be as flexible as possible to accommodate their schedules etc. So we are looking at one of two Saturdays for the Sept clean-up: 9/21 or 9/28. Please vote in the poll...you may vote for one or both days. The poll will only be up for a few days as they will need to know sooner rather than later. many thanks!

I'm going to try and go either way to I'll reserve my voting until I know my schedule better. Either way I'll most likely be able to go.

This is an issue for a few of our members - and it does seem that we almost always use saturdays for clean-ups - but the reality is that we cannot get much turn-out on any day other than saturday. Although we tend to schedule 2 specific runs for clean-ups as that is the minimum required by the USFS road adoption agreement, there is no reason we can't have additional clean-ups. As Brant at the USFS always reminds me, if we ever have members running the trails for fun, if they are willing to do a bit of clean-up and fill out a monitoring form, he can count those hours towards volunteering work (which is a good thing in terms of keeping government funding for trail maintenance and keeping them open). The key would be to coordinate with Brant/USFS office to sign a release form before going, and I can help you with this if needed (basically coordinate with Brant as a point of contact).

So, if anyone ever has an interest to run BF or DC and wouldn't mind doing some clean-up or filling out a monitoring form, please let me know a bit in advance so I can contact Brant, and we can hopefully get volunteer hours. THANKS!
