    Default Chinaman Gulch in August

Is anyone interested? I would like to run Chinaman Gulch sometime in August. Possible dates are Friday 8/16, Saturday 8/17, Saturday 8/24, or Friday 8/30. My guess is the trail is very busy on weekends, so I'm thinking either of the Fridays would be better for a newbie like me to learn the trail. I was hoping someone that has experience running this trail would join in as I haven't done much wheeling in Colorado. I would appreciate any advice from folks that have knowledge of Chinaman Gulch regarding logistics and difficulty.

The Trailsoffroad report suggests it's just what I'm looking for https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/255-chinaman-gulch

    Cheers!
    Gerald

I am definitely interested in either one of the Friday dates. I am not super knowledgeable about the trail however as ive only run it once about 2 years ago.

Ran it in my LJ, 2.5" suspension, 1" bl, 33x10.50, truetrac f/r. I had zero traction issues, but scraped all my skids. Brian was infront of me in his LJ on 35s, he had no issues. I think you will walk the whole thing in yours. It's FUN!

I'm leaning more towards Friday 8/30 as it is the beginning of the Labor Day weekend. I was thinking of maybe doing some exploring and camping in the area over the 3 day holiday. Your thoughts?

I am still in for this the 30th works great for me, I think I am stuck working the weekend so probably no camping for me for Saturday or sunday. I'm up for an early start Friday and spend all day out and about around there.

I still have to confirm if I can skip out of work on Friday the 30th, but I will know for sure this week. Looks like it will take me about 2.5 hours to get there so an early start would be 9AM at the trailhead.
