I just got home. Clear creek canyon was closed on the way down. So I went back to Idaho Springs, to Central City and back through gold hill road to get home. A bit of carnage on the loop but I will let them fill you in.
Aprs track attached.

Carnage? What Carnage? All I saw was an opportunity to practice my sidewall plugging technique

Had a good time on the trail. Glad Speedkills was in good spirits despite losing a tire (sidewall cut shown above). We mostly had good weather, though briefly it hailed and rained heavily while we were working on the cut sidewall.
The Empire loop was an interesting trail with many narrow, moderately technical sections. Having never run it before, I wasn't sure what to expect. Bill Moore lake is how I remembered, though a little easier this time than when I last ran it a couple years ago.
Thanks to all who joined for the trail run.

Looks like a great trail, I still need to get up there one day for that run.
Shane is my hero for the way he drives that Range Rover.

Shane, can you post (or send me privately) the photo you took of my Jeep on the big rock? I'm not sure whether anyone else took one.
Thanks
Of course.

Bill Moore lake was stunning but I found empire loop even more fun to drive due to the challenge of squeezing a full size Rover through the trees. I am definitely going to be doing those trails again.
