I'm still interested in this as well. We will be going to Moab in October, so schedule may be a problem if you choose to run in October

Hoping to be in Moab in October too. I'm looking at mid to late August but I'm not sure... the summer is going so fast.
The summer is really flying by!
I've had Medano on the list for several years now, definitely interested in getting there this year.
My Medano Pass run in July 2014. I let my son drive. His first time driving off road.

While in the area, you might consider a trip up to Blanca Peak. The difficult upper section is closed to motor vehicles, but the lower section is still a bit more challenging than Medano Pass (and more scenic/less crowded IMO). A very fun trail for sure.

That sounds fun, will have to keep Blanca Peak in mind, try to work that in too!
Planning to do this next Thursday, Nov. 7. It's snow covered but open https://www.nps.gov/grsa/planyourvis...-pass-road.htm and by then should see enough use to be clear and easy. The weather is beautiful there for the next 10 days too, sunny and clear skies.
