Default Non Rubi sway bar issue

I am trying to install quick disconnects, but my sway bar doesn't move. In videos I have seen, people seem to easily move it up and down to make room for quick disconnects. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It should move, try a little lube where the swaybar goes through the bushing on the frame.

Stupid question time: did you release the sway bar on both sides of the car first?

maybe stupid answer time: I did not, is that required? I was going to do one at a time.

It won't move much at all if it is connected on one side.

You will be fighting the suspension on the still-connected side if you only remove one sway bar link at a time. You need to remove both to have free movement of the sway bar. No amount of lubricating the bushings is going to help while it is still connected to the shock and spring (and 4000 lbs of Jeep) on one end.
It is an easy thing to forget when you are doing this the first time, which is why I asked.
