Just learned of this place (Ocotillo Wells, CA) from an early jeep friend - this picture of his jeep in front of the 'tube obstacle' got me doing a bit more research:

Going up looks a bit better than going down to me. Either way, I'm happy to spectate only.

Ocotillo Wells SVRA is one of my favorite areas. True off road. No stay on trail requirements. Just have to watch out for the ATVs and bikes.
