Has anyone bought and used HF winches? Actually used them to know how good they are? I don't do any extreme rock climbing so I am looking at getting a winch just because of the safety factor, not planning on using one that often.

I personally do not have one but know a lot of people that do and have seen them in action. Only complaint is that they are very slow.
I've watched some youtube videos on them and they have problems with heat (duty cycle) and have to stop and cool down over and over during pulls or burn up.
Newracer. The ones you saw in action/being used, did you see any problems or would you say they were doing a pretty fair job?
They worked OK. One guy did have a problem with his circuit breaker tripping with just a short pull, he ended up getting the breaker replaced under warranty.
Thanks for the answers. Sounds like getting one for just in case and not planning on using one very often might do for someone like me who doesn't have a lot of money to spend on extras.
You should also consider a used Warn or Superwinch. I have a Warn to sell but I am pretty far from you.
So how much for the Warn, how big is it and where in the hell is Timnath? You can personal e-mail me if you want. Thanks, Don
200 miles (400 miles round trip) is approaching $80 in gas if I did it in the Jeep. What do you value your time at in addition to the fuel costs?
Thanks for the answer I wish I could meet you at Penrose but have plans I don't think I can change. I will keep in contact with you and if you don't sell it maybe I can find the money and buy it. BTW what is Indy down here?
I am not actively trying to sell it so I'll probably still have it for a while. It's just sitting on my workbench at the moment.
There are three trails just outside of Penrose; Independence, Patriot, and Liberty that are extreme rock crawling trails.
