I just spent 3 nights here https://www.vrbo.com/998175 and loved it. The owner is an artist who did the remodel himself and it's really nice and very recent so all of it felt new and clean. An oddity I liked is that he sanded and urethaned the OSB subfloor, which sounds cheesey but is really cool in person. It was quiet and private, and the picture of the monument below with all the clouds was taken from the driveway, Liberty Cap is the dome-shaped formation to the left. There's a rooster that is far enough away not to wake you, but if youre up early you can hear him. We also heard coyote. Total price was $502.00 for all three nights, less than a midrange hotel but private, with a full kitchen and in an amazing location- across the street from the Wildwood trailhead. We hiked Liberty Cap to Otto's Bathtub and Ute Canyon to Fallen Rocks and back. The Colorado National Monument is incredible, the paved road around it is pretty scary and Otto's Bathtub was one of the coolest hikes I've done in a long time. Ute canyon was no joke either, between them we did 18.3 miles in two days. We saw sheep in Ute canyon, they photobombed a timelapse in the best way.
