    Default Miller Rock 10/28

Since no one else has, I’ll kick this one off with an apology to the group. Jim, Trent(and friend), Jonathan and Pete I had a terrible attitude yesterday. I think the 6 months of over time at work finally caught up with me, which is no excuse for my behavior. I kept taking bad lines and it only got worse on the obstacle. Jim, thanks for getting me up with out breaking my truck. Ok now that that’s out of the way, Miller Rock is an awesome trail and I’m definitely going back for round 2. Great weather and good company accept me lol. Everyone completed the trail and the obstacle with out incident besides pin striping and a Little Rock rash.

Thanks for kick'n the report Chris!

No worries for not having a stellar attitude for the day - it was nice seeing you out enjoying (I didn't notice any attitude).

Everyone processed the obstacle down to the creek. If you pay attention to the first image - the map - the lower right corner shows how close we were to county roadway. I turned around at the sign - private property which was near a rise. Had I peeked over the rise I think I would have seen out. The "trail" we were on at that point serves as a driveway to two homes. All of us did the scramble to the top of Miller Rock to enjoy the view. We heard two other vehicles, using CH 4 on the CB, that were on the trail ahead of us. I saw them going down the obstacle and we waited for them at the creek as they fairly quickly came back out of the expanded trail area. They went northeast and processed the tippy section of trail and back down to the campground. They called to have the gate opened but another vehicle we saw later, at the rock, said the gate was closed. Jonathon, Pete, and I stayed back to pull a deadfall over the trail out of the way. Trent, with guest, and Chris headed out for us to follow. They were about done airing up when we arrived at the roadside. A nice late fall day to be outside.

Below is a short list, the full set is at this link:

Overall tree time was about 10 to 15 minutes.

Good day on the trail, and many new experiences and challenges in my Jeep. I continue to be impressed with what the Jeep is able to do. The intimidating obstacle was quite easy with guidance from an experienced spotter (thanks Jim). I have some photos, but it'll be a while before I get to post them.

Had a wonderful time with all on the trail. Was a great time getting a chance to actually meet most of you in person. Jim - Was good seeing you again!

All videos of people getting up the obstacle are up and accessible.

One thing I did notice from the day... easy comms. I believe all vehicles had CB's (or more) where we could readily talk w/o getting out to stop. Bonus was the other group of two on the trail being on the same channel for much of the day.

Yikes! That looked hard - but after seeing all of you make it without damage makes me want to try it! (Although I still don't like the tippy part AT ALL)! Glad you had a great day. Thanks for the pics and vids.

It was definitely one of the best days I've had wheeling. No challenges that were insurmountable and a lot of obstacles to keep the day interesting.

    Thanks jim.
