I don't want to stick myself into the planning since I'm such a maybe- my dog is 15 years, 9 months and 9 days old today and it's day by day. She's healthy in general but is slowly losing weight and the ability to walk and is quickly going crazy. She had become aggressive last week and we set up the vet to come over and put her down, but also tried https://www.google.com/search?q=sele...hrome&ie=UTF-8, from the local vet which has calmed her down considerably and she's stopped biting, so she's still here. No more seizures recently either. She's having fun, we went for a short walk this morning, so it's not time just yet, but things are failing. It's literally day to day, I will not know if I can go until I know, so to speak. If she stays well behaved enough for my wife to handle her alone I may take Friday off and leave Thursday night and reserve a hotel through Sunday morning, but head home early if I'm needed. If things go differently then who knows.

Best wishes with life. She's a good dog. I've always enjoyed seeing her in the photos and vids of your trips.

It looks like I will be arriving in Moab pretty late on Thurs night - probably after 9pm. Do we want to have a time and place to meet on Fri morning. Lions Park is pretty typical (not to mention its right across the street from where i am camping) - although if others are more south in town and we are headed in that direction (say towards Sand Flats Rec Area) then meeting elsewhere might be better. Not sure how early works - but looks like sunrise is around 7:30am. Meet at 9am? Do we have a trail for day 1?

What do you want to do for trails from the list tossed up so far? I'm wide open (read: I'd be happy tagging along to anything so consider any group recommendation a "SOUND'S GREAT TO ME" position).

I've been looking at Moab area geospatialized maps and am not seeing much. What're folks looking at for maps? I do have the FunTreks Moab book + some electronic maps for Avenza.

The paper maps James brought (or bought?) last year were great for navigating between trails. I intend to pick some up from a local store when I visit Moab this year.

James which motor vehicle maps did you prefer? I recall you said certain maps were superior for hiking, and others for driving, due to detail / scale of the maps.

I use the Lattitude 40 maps (there is an east and a west I believe). They are 1:75,000 so work well for driving.
    https://www.latitude40maps.com/moab-east-trails/

I prefer a bit more zoomed in for hiking and often use the Trails Illustrated maps foot and bike travel.

Hells Revenge, Poison Spyder, ToTW would be top of my list....sevenmile rim would also be interesting for a slightly easier choice.

This will be my first trip to Moab, so these look like a good choice.

I'm thinking I'll be getting in late as well. Planning on trailering to try and speed up the travel a little. I'm staying a little south of you and Lions Park looks like its only about 2 miles away. So no biggie.

Good choices I think! Of those four, I've only done poison Spyder and ToTW. For those who have not done them, I'd suggest doing Fins-n-Things first. It's a "Must Do" trail and will give you a very good warm up to the other trails mentioned. (One heck of a slick-rock roller coaster ride)! Hells Revenge looks a lot harder than Fins based on the video recently posted!! PS has some very interesting obstacles and off-camber spots. Tons of fun and more difficult than Fins in my opinion! ToTW is also a must do!

You guys are going to have a blast!
