Default Appreciation from an old Montana guy!

Thanks for letting me join such a great group. I'm an old guy, with an old TJ, but it's set up to drive and I like hitting the trails. I work at the Denver Federal Center, and have been here since January this year, and will be here another couple years, unless I get moved. I've been poking around in mountains since I was a baby, backpacking, horsepacking, and four wheeling. We used to call it work, putting out salt and mineral to cows, fixing springs, etc.

    Anyway, here's the rig:

    1997 TJ Wrangler Sport
    Dark blue exterior, gray interior
    4 liter
    5 speed AX 15
231 transfer case, slip yoke eliminator
Front axle Dana 30, 4.56 gears with ARB locker and Chrome Moly shafts. Gives the strength of a 44 in a Dana 30, actually stronger than the Rubicon 44's
Rear axle factory Dana 44, 4.56 gears with ARB locker--stock shafts, disk brake conversion
Sway bar disconnects--soon to be a Currie Anti-rock--I'm tired of the disco's
    Upgraded drag link
    4" Pro Comp lift
    2" body lift
    Dropped pitman arm
    relocated brake lines
    RS 5000 all four corners
    RS 5000 steering stabilizer
    35 x 12.50 x 15 B.F. Goodrich. KO2’s (5)
    2” wheel spacers
    Speedo gear to correct speedometer
    Warn XD9000 winch, synthetic line
    K&N air filter
    Hard top
    half doors
Custom front bumper with integrated winch mount, roller fairlead
Garvin Wilderness rear bumper and spare carrier with high lift jack mount, axe mount, shovel mount, fuel carrier and cooler rack
    Rock sliders
    Xenon fender flares
    Off Road lights
6 rock lights underneath for night crawling
    Roof rack on hard top
    Bartact seat covers
    Cheap Cobra CB, 3’ Firestick
    Husky catch everything floor liners
    2 extra fuse panels
Onboard air system--runs lockers and airs up the 35's efficiently
    Thumb throttle
    Upgraded muffler and catalytic converter
    CV joint drive shafts
Winch wired to run from inside
Mirror relocation brackets for running soft or no doors
    Power inverter wired under dash
trail shower for hot shower on the trail--control temp with heater controls
tow bar, wiring for flat tow

    Yeah, it drives...

Great to see you here. I think we ran MSV / Coney Flats together last month.

Thanks, everyone, and thanks for letting me tag along on MSV/Coney Flats. Enjoyed meeting all of you and look forward to more. I also did Red Cone/Radical Hill a little while back with Jim. I did Wearyman/Ptarmingan/McAllister last weekend and am planning on joining the trail cleanup this weekend. I've also hit Metberry and a couple other trails this summer.

Where in Montana are you from? I'm currently on my final semester at Tech.

Welcome! How do you like it here compared to Montana? We just opened a branch law office in Missoula. I keep telling my boss I need to go check it out...

4th generation Montanan, Montana is home. Literally. My wife is still there. But the wheeling in Colorado is awesome, we just don't have this kind of country/terrain in MT.

Lived in Bozeman for a few years back when Reagan screwed everthing up. I don’t miss working outside in the winter cold. Or cutting, splitting and stacking 5+ cords of firewood every year just so I could afford my utilities.
