Hello Folks,
Last weekend I had the itch to visit some trails west of Fort Collins. It ended up being a "wing it" day where I re-visited Lake Irene at Rocky Mountain National Park and then traveled the Stillwater Pass trail (low-ish clearance two wheel drive automobile passable - with due care - in the dry). Out from that trail I stopped at a couple short trails as I was passing by on CO-125. Those checked - they were logging roads - portions still open for travel. Back to 125 and up to Rand for the cut=off over to CO-14 for home - and to have two moose sightings.
Some stats for the day
Start 10:24 am
End 9:00 pm
Length 201 miles
Elapsed Time 10h 35m
Average Speed 19 mph

Start / Eastern end of Stillwater Pass trail. It is a main connector trail serving the area. The eastern and western mile or few is nicely graded for passenger cars and RV's
Away from the "ends" of the trail, the rocks are larger and in sections more frequent. Still automobile passable, but with some care needed.
