___________
In a never ending search for the proper mix of dirt & rock !
Paul- wow brother glad you made it out safely. You are one of the more prepared folks we know.
Glad you were able to stop spreading to a range fire.
Sounds like a very hot fire....wonder what ended up being the issue....
So glad your home safe. Wires is the back of the engine....fuel lines near there.
Hope all works our well
that is not me, but thanks anyway.
Ahh
...
Doink was this you sir??
No matter your home safely....good to have you home and safe.
Very sad day to have a Jeep burn.
They have had issues with electrical/fuel fires with the 4.0
My cussing has had to Cherokees burn.
not a 4.0, that's a JKUR. I'd guess some of the dry sagebrush he talks about got stuck up on his exhaust and lit up, but IDK.
The online comments include this, IDK if it's true or not:
"...plastic fuel line which is connected to the underside of the body with some type of adhesive failed. This dropped the fuel line directly on the catalytic converter, which melted the fuel line causing a fire that spread to the engine compartment. Apparently this is an issue on the 4 door model Wrangler as the 2 door Wrangler have a plate preventing this."
Well crap....I can see the vid very well.
Am on my phone only right now....
Desk top is In for the 4th time for black screen of death
Laptop needs the power port replaced......
The internal prong feel out.....dam dog knocked it off the table....
So phone skills are not so great with my aging eyes.
These new style fuel line fittings keep nda suck.
Plastics dry out and get brittle then they leak.
As well heat like what he has......fire...
Biggest lesten here folks don't lift the hood.
Use the fender Wells to get the extinguisher into.
Once you lift the hood you totally expose the fire to free breathing.
Hold down attack it then lift the hood slowly.
As you attack the fire.
Should keep it fairly small as it cannot breath.
Ok cool....
