I'm still fairly seriously considering this. I've watched a few videos of several vehicles doing this trail and while I don't think I can do all the obstacles on their hardest lines I think I may be able to do the easier routes. It would be nice to actually use the winch a bit and get some practice doing so with spotters and good advice from experienced members.

I may also do like James suggests and just go for the ride/hike along the first time.

For me to go I'll need to spend some time under the Jeep, getting all systems 100%, and take a long hard look at my trail tools and make some improvements there, JiC SHTF.

My experience is that most of the people who put videos on the internet of them wheeling make it out to be much worse than it actually is. I tried to convince my wife who hates shelf roads to do Black Bear and suggested she watch some videos, that failed when she found some guy from Texas screaming like a child about how crazy this is and how he could die at any moment and no one that's not as cool as him should ever attempt it. He was the best driver in the world though so he survived, you'd think he was the first one that didn't roll to certain death. Same thing happened on Red Cone only the guy had a fish eye lens so it looked like the trail was so narrow that a mouse couldn't walk on it without falling off the side.

Not saying this one isn't challenging or dangerous but keep in mind that everyone's rating on difficulty and pucker factor is different and the crazier you edit the video to appear the more likes, or thumbs up or whatever they are going after they'll get.

I'd also bet a JK rubicon on 32's would out wheel every other vehicle ever made on 33's in 99% of the situations you'll come across on the trail. I'm by no means a jeep fan boy but it is what it is. You can always stop and climb in another rig, if you are no longer having fun then there's no point in continuing and there's no shame in parking it.

Yep. Folks here won't give grief in parking it. Going home safe is good.

With that, I'm in pending a prior engagement only. Once a date is settled I'll know for sure.
