    Default Red Cone planning

Interested to run red cone at some point in later Aug or Sept. Seeing who is interested and what day...at this point I am back to weekends only.

Interested, too bad weekends only but it is what it is. Fairly open to days, just have to deal with some hail claims but those shouldn’t take much time. CSC4W will be in that area the 17th and 18th of this month, fyi.

Yup...back to work on wed. Traveling back to Denver very early on tues (flight arrival like 7:30 am) - might be able to squeeze something in on tues that isn't a super early start. Hmmm...maybe a good day for msv-coney?

Edit - created tues msv thread so this can stay as red cone

I'm mostly a Saturdays person but weather depending I could dip out of my Sunday volunteer commitment at Church.

    What are your exit thoughts?

    Webster back to 285?

Montezuma via the short or long route?

    Brek and up to I-70?

Brek and down to one of the two easy passes back to 285?

Wait for weather and people's thoughts and call an audible at the end of Red Cone?

Colorado Four Wheelers, the local group Doink runs with, will be on Red Cone and Radical Hill Saturday, just an FYI.

Yep! And I'm guessing 10-12 rigs total.

Anything been done about that washed out spot on Webster pass? Last time I was up there (2-3 years ago?), it was a puckering experience.

I would probably be interested to head down west/north side of Webster towards Saints John/Keystone and see where to go from there (Santa Fe Peak, Chihuahua gulch, Cinammon or something). Obviously, if there were rigs that needed to return to start for trailer etc, that would decide that. Could always run up Halls Valley from that side.

I think Sundays are better for avoiding some crowding, but for this weekend, it doesn't really matter to me. If we plan for Sat, we might want to avoid a start time near the CFW group or just go sun. I am also happy to consider a Red Cone trip at a later point into Sept as the weather is often a bit better as it cools down (less T-storms) and the possibility of some better fall colors.

Along all these lines, I am mostly looking to get out this weekend in the jeep, so open to other suggestions. I like a bit of trail challenge, but anything would work. I've never run Bard Peak and Democrat Mt - they are pretty easy but are high. I haven't been out to the Collegiate Peaks area (St Elmo etc) in a while if that interests anyone.

I might be able to go depending on what day. Sunday would probably work best for me. Not sure I could make Saturday
