Default TJ / LJ Dash Tray

I always liked the Daystar dash tray for TJs but it has "Driven By Design" molded into the front of it and I didn't want that on my dashboard forever so I never got one. I just ordered this one, same thing w/o the logo front for 19.50 ttd.

this thing is pretty cool, holds a lot more than the OEM tray and doesnt block anything. I'm surprised how useful it's been already, definitely worth $20.00.

I have the "driven by design logo on mine, attached my cell phone holder to the front so I only see driven ..... design. works for me.

Which phone holder are you using? That is the perfect place for it.

Here is my cell phone mount. it is a "MOB ARMOR" magnetic mount, a little pricing but once I lock the phone in it will not come loose.

I took the tray off and sprayed it semi-gloss black, it was too flat to match the dash and the plastic was pretty porous, it sucked the paint right in and looks great. I drilled a 1/4" hole dead center and put on a gopro mount with a short bolt / washer and blue threadlocker, a camera-to-gopro mount adapter and a phone holder, all of which were in my parts bins. The gopro mount lets it tilt up and down, and the adapter lets it adjust side to side. Not as nice, but free and done.

    Nice.

That tray must be some heavy duty plastic to hold a phone!

I keep looking at the tray pix and think: Some spray glue with black felt to cover the bottom to quiet "loose stuff" sliding about.

mine will hold an old Iphone 5 that I use mostly as a wifi remote, nothing valuable. I have a phablet for navigation but I usually don't bring it on single day trail runs. No point to an actual phone on most trails unless you're using it as a camera, it's rare to have service. I do have a sim card in the iphone so I can make calls with it in an emergency, I have Colorado 4x4 rescue and recovery in it and such. I'm with Sam, shut it off and enjoy the ride.
