Default Kingston Peak - July 28

Thread to discuss trail run this weekend at Kingston peak.

Jim asked about connecting some additional trails. Last year I ran Kingston peak in the fall (with Paul, Wolfgang, and Bob), and we ended up running Yankee Hill after Kingston. We also got very lost in Alice trying to find Yankee Hill trail entrance, so planning how to connect the trails seems to be pretty important.

On Kingston, we are hoping to break for lunch at the trail head to James Peaks Lakes and perhaps hike out to the lake if weather is good, before continuing on to the summit.

Meet by 9 to get out before afternoon rain and storms. Driver meeting and wheels down at 9:15 am. CB 4.

meet at Lake park @ William C Russell Park

ADMIN EDIT: I moved many of the posts from the "Planned" thread into the "Planning" thread. The goal is to keep Planned clean.

These two threads are why we have Planning and Planned. Planning can get long and cluttered while details are hashed out (with threadjacks, which are OK). Planning is good to be kept clean as people look there, last minute before heading out the door, for the run.

Just a suggestion: if you are looking for a bit of challenge on the way back via Yankee Hill - take the turn north and go out via Miners Gulch. Have fun...be safe.
