Several pix to process this afternoon. I stayed on Pole Hill, near the end, as the jeep was having an Odometer Moment - 177777.1 and 177777.7 at scenic spots. I headed down to Glen Haven for some tasty Cherry Cobbler a la mode. At Drake I picked up a hitch hiker - a kid from metro London who wanted to get to Rustic (actually Shambhala Mountain) that evening. I decided to give him a ride up - in the car. Back to FoCo, a burger at Big Al's (with the customary Fries / Chips issue with the order taker), and off to Shambhala via the Poudre. Turns out he's spending time in Boulder and got a ride to a friends cabin northwest of Eldora. From there he "walked" some trail up and over the divide and down to Grandby / Grand Lake area. He was thinking of hitching up to Walden and back to Rustic but ended up going to Estes. Enjoyable conversation. One curiosity - at dinner he went for Root Beer saying it's not common in London.
I got somewhat wet - decent rain on the trail, trail to Estes - then Estes was dry - stayed dry down to the mouth of the Big Thompson - then poured hard much of the way to FoCo. With the doors, the rain did not sweep forward onto the windshield and I reasonably stayed dry. My main water issue was water running from the top to the inside of the door but that only happened when parked / moving slowly where rain could drain my direction.
