A couple hours, probably. I can't recall quite how long it took last time. Kingston + Yankee Hill took us 5 or 6 hours total, including getting lost in Alice for a while.

Im a maybe. Just had a little daughter born at 33 weeks. Need to get out of the NICU this weekend with the wife before the baby comes home.

Her first time offroad in the jeep since it was lifted.

Looks like we have a lot of "maybe" folks for this weekend. If all the maybe people show up, we probably want to break into a couple groups, at least to pass the long shelf road section leading up to James Peak Lake trail head. Let's see how the RSVP list changes by Friday and make a plan.

I am now a maybe, took the Jeep down to check out slaughterhouse gulch and it wouldn’t shift into 4w at the bottom of the hill and had to turn around. If I can get it fixed before Saturday I am definitely in.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. This isn't a hard trail, but you'll want 4wd / 4 low for it. Hopefully you will find an easy fix

You can send one person across the shelf first to stop vehicles from starting the other side. For anyone who hasn't done this it's not a typical scary shelf; it's on a slope not a cliff and it's been worn down over the years so it has a small "lip" in many places and really is no big deal.

There is a notorious plastic clip on the jks that breaks and lets the cable link slip off. It usually happens while attempting to shift to 4low at a full stop.

Yep, and they are cheap, I keep a couple of them in the glove box of my JK.

Can’t get Jeep in until Monday (I was rolling when trying to shift but I feel that the clip is the issue)

Sounds like you need to tag up with your Lakewood neighbor "ColoJeeper" and barter for a spare clip :-)

4 Wheel Parts on Sheridan shows the Crown brand in stock, less than §2.00 each.

Edit: At least one of the many dealers should carry it in stock as well.

I don't have a JK, so don't actually know anything about that clip. Based on what others said, I suspect it's pretty simple to change out.

It looks to be fairly easy, getting the console off and back on would probably be the hardest part, if it is the one in the cab that is broken. I understand it is the same clip at the transfer case, it might be a bit tough to get to that one. There are a few videos on Youtube.

I haven't done it before, it looked very straight forward. I am thinking I will pick a couple of them up just to have myself, just in case.
