Default Kingston Peak or Argentine July 28 (?)

Will have some out of town guests visiting on July 28, and want to show them a great (scenic) trail. I was considering Argentine Pass or Kingston Peak.

It's been a while since I've been to Kingston so that'd be my vote.

Excellent. I think either would be great, and I ran both last year. If I can get a few interested folks to post in here, I'll add it to the calendar. I suspect Kingston will be a great choice since there's an Argentine run next week (that I can't make).

Let's go with Kingston but Argentine (or other) can be an option should it still be closed by then.

I want to get up Kingston again this year. Typically run Yankee hill on the way back out.

Posted on the calendar. Looks like there's a lot of interest, so hopefully the trail will be open and ready in a month.

One of my favorite trails, if I don't go the North Sand Hills that weekend I'll tag along on this.

Spoke with a nice lady at the Idaho Springs Ranger Station / Visitor Center this morning, Kingston is set to open on July 15 or earlier if possible.

This was us last year, September IIRC:

On the calendar, I have listed to meet up at 10:00 am. I think we should move it back to 8:30 or 9:00, based on the forecast for afternoon thunderstorms starting at 12:00. The monsoon as finally arrived, it appears.

Is anyone still interested if we try to get an earlier start?

I'll be early. I'm a maybe because I have a 6:00 work appointment that morning which should be fast and then we're heading out right after. If we're really early we'll just catch up along the trail; likely we'll just meet as planned but I don't want to commit to the meetup time just incase something changes. I just put the top and doors on last night in anticipation of this, a little rain should just make for more dramatic scenery. As long as there's no lightning it should be fine.
