YETI has an awesome product, but sadly, they don't support the NRA, so I don't support them. Pretty sad, I had to throw away one of my favorite ball caps.

I have a Yeti, only because it came with my buggy and there is a mount specific to the cooler.

I love my Yeti products, even though they are totally overpriced. Personally I could care less if they support the NRA or not, however. Not all of us are NRA supporters ;-/

regardless of philosophical benting, the Yeti is just more plastic and foam in the lid. $350.00 for that "upgrade"...

Yeti mastered marketing for sure, and the products do work very well..... although they are over priced!

I compare Yeti to Bose. Better sales through marketing. The RTIC and similar products are 95% as good at a substantial savings.

WTF does a cooler company have to do with a gun organization? I didn't watch the video, I knew expensive coolers are just more insulation.

Yeti and the other similar high quality coolers have ticker and stronger rotomolded plastic bodies, more foam in the cooler body, handles that can carry a few hundred pounds, a thick rotomolded lid with thicker foam in them and a gasket around the lid that when latched down will keep water out.

They are totally worth it for the right application. Just because Yeti does not give a discount to NRA members doesn't mean they don't support the NRA it just means you get the pay the same price as everyone else. LOL Does McDonalds give you a NRA discount? If not you should boycott them also.

We bought a yeti as a gift for our daughter and her husband. They love it! Keeps there food and drinks from perishing way better and longer than a cheep cooler with ice in it. I think Yeti supports people who are more concerned about keeping their expensive food safe. Not their guns.

If im going to spend $400 on a cooler, I would rather spend $800 and get an ARB electric one. Then you can fit more in and there is no ice sloshing around when offroad.

From the vid - on the $50 cooler with the open void lid.... I wonder if there would be insulation benefit (worth considering) if it were filled with some of the expanding spray can foam? Perhaps drill six holes in the underside and gently fill the void with expanding foam. Since the lid is not enclosed/restrained in a rigid mold (as one would have at the factory) one would have to pay attention to not over fill and have the foam expand the sides beyond normal. Poor man's mod for a ?better? cooler?

I think that's a great idea. I would use the minimal expanding foam so it doesn't put much pressure on the lid plastic. Then some type of good sealant would be needed in the holes to prevent water intrusion into the insulation.

You would need to poke some holes to see if there is already foam in the lid and where, since I imagine not every model or make of cooler is built the same way.

This is what I have, it holds a ton of stuff, keeps it for 5 days and has tiedowns on the sides that fit well on my trailer. $78.00. IIRC I paid $48.00 on sale.
