I’m joining just for the day also! If my son stays home with the dogs, I might be able to camp out!

Sounds like some folks will already be there on Friday. Is there an official link up time at the trail head for those of us that might already be camping Friday night?

Plan is to meet around 10 at the camping area, coordinates in the calendar post. Once everyone gets there we can head out.

For those that have been to Chain Wall, I am planning on camping Friday and Saturday night. Rain is in the forecast today and tomorrow then clear until Sunday.
My question; Do you think the dirt road to the campsite will support the 17K pounds of Motorhome I will be bringing?

    Shouldn’t be a problem.

Mist of the “dirt” up there is actually really fine rock, it shouldn’t get too muddy and will dry out quick.

Looks to be good weather, don't think the forest service or Park county will be dropping the fire ban though.

Still just stage 1 fire restrictions, looks like? Permitted to have contained flames (camp stoves)?

So after reading the stage one fire ban I guess even a propane BBQ grill or fire pit is a no-no if I am reading this correctly? so I will bring my camp stove/griddle instead??? of the propane grill.

This video suggests you can have a propane fire pit. Found the link here https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/psicc...id=fsm9_032498.

Maybe I interpreted the rules wrong?

yes, it is East of the big parking lot off 77, just South of the town of Tarryall. Rough coordinates are in the calendar entry.

Looks like i'm going to be unable to make it now.

I just got put on call for work this weekend so have to be within 30 minutes of my computer as we are doing production release. Damn was really looking forward to getting down to that area too. Better take lots of photos!
