I'll suggest an alternative to the powertank that Jim suggested. https://www.amazon.com/Compressor-Po.../dp/B000BM8RT8 nice little compressor, and if you choose you can mount it and a 2.5gal tank underneath and run air power tools if i'm remembering correctly.

This is the air compressor I bought about a year ago and itís been great. Itís bigger and faster than most ďcheapĒ compressors and itís cheap!

Welcome!! Agreed with the others that said wheel for a while first, then decide. With a stock JK and good spotting, you can do the majority of trails in CO, up to at least a level 6, more or less. Main thing is to get out there, and with help from a good spotter, learn how to pick good lines (and be a good spottee) and that'll be your best protection.

Welcome to the group Martin! I bought my Rubicon in 2008 and really haven't done much of anything to it. I did get a Shrockworks front bumper and a winch. Plus I had a friend fab up some tube steps that he attached to the existing rock sliders. That set-up has protected my doors from a lot of damage (even in parking lots)! A cheapo air compressor has come in handy on many occasions. You'll likely find that you won't really need to do anything to it until you've had enough time to try a bunch of trails and figure out what you like and don't like. They are very capable right off the assembly line!
