So Mark and I were ansi to do a shakedown run after we installed his rebuilt 231 t-case. We had scheduled our shakedown run for Slaughter House for yesterday about a couple of weeks ago as the closure dates were from Jan. 1 to May 15th, There were other reports saying that it would be closed for "mud lidagation" till June 1st. Everywhere else was just to far to go for our time frame. So Mark called the forest service for that county and talked to them directly to see if it was open or closed. They said it was open so we ran with it. There were several razers and a group camping. A few other rigs heading up the trail as we pulled into the staging area.
Mark and Nichole had her mom to sit for the twins and there son Dom went along for the ride, while my son took time out of his busy life to co-pilot with me. "I had him drive my rig to the cattle guards so he could learn the stick a little"
Slaughter House is a great trail to put a rig through it's paces and Marks rig did great last night. We did not get many pics but when I get the one pic. loaded I'll post it up, I think was pretty cool if it turned out?
I decided to take the tamer line up the shoots, while Mark crawled right through the harder line, since I don't want any unnecessary mishaps like I had at little Moab, my main goal is to be ready for Ouray in August and so far so good!!!! 2 trail run since.
I must say Slaughter house get better and better every time I go there. Yeah it is pretty short but plenty fun!
