"Disdain is the offensive word Aaron. In your response you use dislike, two very different words.
Maybe I’m out of touch but this group once supported member skills without anyone being accused of having “disdain” for another. (
http://www.frontrange4x4.com/forums/...-Member-Skills) You know, helping each other out.
In my time wheeling and owning 3 trucks I primarily used individual fabricators rather than shops. I didn’t do this out of disdain but rather because I liked working with people I wheeled with, two went on to start their own fabricating business. That’s pretty cool.
I’ll step back out because seeing words like disdain & yahoo in replies bothers me, makes this forum sound like so many others where common courtesies have gone by the wayside."
Wow Chris
. I simply stated that I was bummed to hear that your son would not consider using a shop, and that if he were to change his mind, me and my company would be happy to help him out. And somehow you took this as me attacking him. I did NOT mean for that to be the case as I was trying to be helpful and offer another alternative if he couldn't find what he needed.
I used my words wisely. And I have never been taught that this word was offensive. Disdain as Webster defines it, means:
verb. consider to be unworthy of one's consideration.
To me, the use of this word fit perfectly, as he seems unwilling to consider using a shop.Note, I didn't ever use the word
HATE. And seeing anyone who is unwilling to use a whole group of shops really saddens me. Hence why I said it "bummed" me out.
Best of luck to the OP and to you Chris!
EDIT: I have only met Sam once I believe, but have dealt with him for many years now on many different forums. But pretty sure he doesn't hold any negativity towards you or anyone. If I were to take a guess at his "yahoo" comment, it looks like it got auto-corrected to that from ya'll.
