    Default Porting exhaust manifolds

Anyone here port their exhaust manifolds. My jeep had fenderwell headers on it when I got - but they were pretty used and rusted out quickly. I replaced with stock manifolds, but they are not a matching set: one is OEM 225 style and one is probably from a later 231 V6 and thus has just a bit larger ports. I am getting a bit of a different rich vs lean condition is one cylinder bank vs the other and thinking the difference in the exhaust manifold ports might be causing some of the problem. Thinking of grinding out the smaller exhaust manifold ports just a bit to see if I can get that side to exhaust a bit better and keep the plugs from fouling with soot.

Trying to see what tools and bits people have used to do the grinding. I can trace the engine exhaust port size and transfer it to the manifold (or possibly use a gasket as a template).

I just saw these on CL. Didn't know if they might be useful to you in order to get a matching set to port.

If you have an air die grinder then get a decent set of carbide grinding bits and enjoy the fun of grinding cast iron. Just weigh the cost of the bits and your time against just buying a matching manifold if you can find one. Sometimes it just not worth it once you invest in the proper tools to do the job.
