    Default Wheeling out of state.

A friend and I are wanting to go out of state for some wheeling towards the middle/end of August. Couple years ago we went to Moab and had a ton of fun but I want to go somewhere else this summer. I was looking into Chokecherry Canyon a little, all I see posted is serious rigs on gnarly trails which I would be all for if I didn't have to drive my truck back home. Is there anything there that's not too extreme (Similar to Kane Creek or less)? Anywhere else in NM? I also see some of you may be going to St. George so I'll wait for that report but how is that area? How about Arizona? Anywhere in Wyoming that isn't too boring or easy?

We also thought about Ouray but I want to see what else is in the surrounding states.

Keep in mind I have a Comanche with ~3" lift and 31s, My friends rig is an Offroad package Xterra with a crazy driver. I would also like to go to any area that is well documented whether it be online or a trails book.

I think I would try out Ouray before I even bothered with another state. Here is a really good review of Blackbear Pass. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/c...lack-bear-pass. Sounds pretty interesting. I'm sure others here have done it. I have not.

Chokecherry is a nice area with a variety of trails (some are extreme, but some are not). I'm sure you could find something to suit you in the area.

I'm headed to Red River NM over spring break for some camping/wheeling. Not sure what to expect (this will be my first time in the area) but there are several trails in the area. I'm sure Greenie Peak will have to much snow, but Goose Lake is supposed to be doable this time of year.

Farther south there is supposed to be good wheeling at Elephant Butte.

SE of Albuquerque there is Glade Run https://www.go-newmexico.com/Glade-R...-Area-Offroad/

Or if you go down around Las Cruces/Silver City, there are a bunch of wheeling opportunities. https://www.jeeptheusa.com/las-cruces-jeep-trails.html

I’m heading out to AZ next week for spring break. My cousin lives in Mesa and goes wheeling all the time. We’re suppose to run Bulldog canyon while I’m there (he says it’s stock truck friendly). I’ll post a report. Pretty long drive though.
