Default (Mostly) Finished S10 on Solid Axles

I joined up here ~ a year ago before my rig had solid axles. All my ifs was pretty much shot and on the way out when I found the forum. I was finally able to roll my rig out of the garage the other day after (mostly) finishing up my swap. I'm still pretty gimped with only have 2wd right now, need to throw shocks on, and too much other stuff.

I'm looking to get back up on some trails though if anyone has some easy runs coming up. Maybe Bunce or Sugar Loaf? Those are relatively close to me in Broomfield.

This is my first solid axle swap I've done, it took me the better part of a year to complete. The front cross-member is a modified Yukon hitch receiver, adjustable front shackle mounts frenched into the frame, rancho RS44044 springs, the front rear shackle hangers are in-boarded. That really helped keep ride height down a couple inches being spring over. The rear I used the stock spring pack + added leaf. The axles aren't great but I got them cheap, the gearing matched, and the front had the stock Y-link steering which I'm running for now... but 3:31 gears, and the front is a vacuum disco d44 the rear is a corporate 20. Astro steering box and drop yj(?) pitman arm. Tires are 35" swampers, rear disc conversion, stock rear drive-shaft bolted right up with a neapco u-joint.

I need shocks, I to swap out my steering components for new stuff, maybe go hi-steer, I need to mod the front trans cross-member to get my 4wd back, too much other stuff but that'll get me back on the trails. I've driven the blazer ~50 miles around town and it feel fine up to ~50mph. Once shocks are on and maybe a stabilizer I think it'll run fine at highway speeds.

I'm still not sure I should have done all the work by myself (especially the welding/fabbing) but it drives/tracks better than before and nothing has fallen off.. yet.. so there's that.

These are the shackle hangers I came up with, pretty much just a few pieces of 1/4" steel plate

Front shackle mounts, I got carried away with the welder here; Disclaimer: I said I probably shouldn't have done this all on my own
I need to gusset this area too

Bonus when it was sitting stock

I'm happy to snap more pics if anyone would like. This was and still is a learning experience for me so I welcome any constructive criticism and/or feedback!

Right on! Once I get a few more parts on maybe we can do some short after work runs? I'd like to tag along on some of these group runs too so hopefully I'll see you around.
