    Default Salt Creek Area Snow

I happened to pass the same place on Feb 1 (left) and Mar 1 (right) this year and took the same photo. This is on 285 south of Fairplay, north of Antero, there is basically no snow. I'd expect early openings and a fireban this year. California is in for another dry year too, the divide is hardly covered either.

Just came from 4 days in Southpark myself. Little to no snow, very warm, and a lot of drying wind. Bad combination.

That whole valley never seems to hold much snow for very long. Not enough trees and too much wind.

Lived in Gunnison in the 60s. Drove through there many times. Never much snow on the ground in South Park. Only place you can really expect to see snow is next to the numerous snow fences along 285.
