I'm not going to be able to make it out this weekend, just simply too much to do right now.

Hey Dieseldoc and RockyMtRebel I'm new here and pretty new to 4x4ing would this trail be good for me? Hopefully it's not super heavy rock crawling? I have a full size pickup

Hackett is not so friendly for full size.
We did see a F250 diesel in there this last weekend. But he had to winch out in one spot
There are 2 there much more friendly to full size.
You are welcome to come along and park it once you feel it's to much. Ride the rest

Can't wait to finally check out the Gulches! As of now the weather is supposed to be nice on Saturday with the snow storm rolling in late Saturday and early Sunday so we should have sun for most of the time!

Matt you will enjoy this area.
will need to camp down there some time so you can run them all!
    4 of them now.
Preditor(2nd half of the sports mans loop back in the day) is getting more travel and the bottom is nasty! I would like a group thats willing to go up this!

Hackett is always a good time. Wish park county would reopen there side so the longwater/Hackett loop can be run again!

Longwater- the easy one of the bunch. One big rock to climb other wise a nice drive with good views.

Mettberry_ the more popular of the group as its the one more friendly to the stokers and less experienced.
Still a good time for sure!

Dillon is the woman coming out this week? If so oyu going to bring her along to see your new friends and the crazy things we do?
I think we should get you up the ledge this weekend! put matt facing down hill for you with the cable on your front end to keep you from doing a back flip!

Dieseldoc I checked her itinerary and she isn't flying in until the 25th. Looks like ill be flying solo this weekend. I think I might be up for predator this weekend with the idea of having a cable keeping me stable. Makes me nervous thinking about it right now lol

Hell whats the point of having a jeep! I'll give it a go!

I'm up for any trail this weekend. I think this is going to be a good weekend to ride. Ready for Saturday

luckily the alignment for tj's is very easy to do. I actually had to do an alignment on my Jeep this weekend after moving the track bar to the original location. The PO moved it to a spot where it was causing the front axle to be pushed towards the passenger side. I moved it back to the original spot and my axle is almost perfectly centered now! But then the alignment was way off but thats easier then changing oil on a TJ!!!"

seriously I’m already looking, I think could drop 20k and I don’t know if that would do it. I don’t think I’m up for the gulches on Saturday but Phillip if you see this I might be into Switzerland or Bunce. I’ll check back later!

the Nasty coment is about Preditor. the bottom is very thrased right now. big holes a nice sized rock spine in the middle of the climb that is not just crossing it but going up it as well. so from right to left it takes this thing 100 yard to cross 10 feet and its like 2 and a half foot tall!

come play and see for your self. Hackett is still easy, spent most the day in 2 wheel drive or 4 hi. as usual.

Dillon we could do the sports mans loop. the side out up preditor is not bad I think you could do it.
The ledge coming up the narrow section on hackett we could get you up with the cable for safety!

I've been keeping an eye on this, I may be in. I'm still debating the 3 hour drive. I have really been wanting to check out to gulches. It sounds like the group is interested in doing the easier trails? Will I be fine here with an open front dif? I haven't had a chance to fix my ARB yet, I'm thinking it's the solenoid gone bad since the compressor never shuts off and I don't hear any air leaking. Also I have some weird rattle going on in the rear passenger, I'm thinking it's control arm bushings going bad but I haven't found anything the moves yet... grrr.

tyler Hacket is not easy. but it is not the hardest thing I have done.
But it is a good time.
you will be fine with open diff.
I used 4lo only at the bottom, for the ledge and the ICE field shown in the pics.
the pics show a rig going down the ledge! up is much more fun
I know the drive is not nice. Its 2.5 hours for me 74 miles to the top of hackett from my place
